How To Use The Repository

In order to decompress the packages on this site, you will need a utility capable of unzipping. I have provided two GUI-based unzipping utilities that you can run directly on CE. The only CPU architecture that I do not currently have a utility for is X86. Both utilities linked to below are freeware!

Windows CE 1.0 and 2.0 users can use Pocket UnZip on their devices by clicking on the link below for your CPU type:

Windows CE 2.11 and newer users can use ezyUnzip on their devices by clicking on the link below for your CPU type:

If you run into any problems or are having difficulty getting these software installed or using them, do not hesitate to contact me via the "Contact" link at the top of the page.

Difficulties with the site

If anyone is having problems with the captcha or other parts of the site, please drop me a line via the Contact link at the top and let me know about it. As far as the captcha is concerned, this is my first time using the captcha module and have not had a lot of experience with it before this site. Currently you should only need to solve a captcha once and not have to solve it ever again. If you do have a problem with said module, please note what kind of captcha it was (e.g. pick the unrelated word, double occurrence, alphabetical order, etc).

Thank you all for your patience in this matter.

Search engine update

Until now I was unaware that the search function wasn't completely working for the text fields. I have now patched this bug and all should be working fine now for searching using the text fields (title, author, description especially). Also I'd like to note that the text fields are case-insensitive when filtering/searching.

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

Welcome all to the new and improved version of the HPC Software Repository!

The launching of this site today marks the first year since I started the Repository. One of the new features of this site is the one that was most requested by all of you, and that is to be able to search all the software by specific fields. Another of the changes made is that all software on this site is installable right from your handheld - NO desktop required! Most all of the software available is in ZIP format, and as such will require an unzip utility of some sort if you wish to unpack and install all from your device. I will soon provide a list of freeware unzip utilities for platforms and processor types that contain such for your convenience.

Also, this time around since I have to manually copy over all the software titles from the old site, I have taken it upon myself to find a screenshot of every application I upload (something that I had none of previously). If you have a screenshot of an application that exists on this site and it does not currently have one, contact me so we can arrange to have it posted for said application. Your efforts in this are greatly appreciated!

I am very excited about the new website because it not only gives you what you want, but it now makes things extremely easy for me to make changes to the site when and how I want. One thing though that had to be done was the user accounts from the old site were unable to be transferred to the new one due to a totally different CMS software being used. I hope this is not a big problem for you all.

And one last little note, as before you must log in to create a software submission. After you do that, the submit software menu button will appear in the links below the logo on the page.

Thank you all for visiting my humble abode, and enjoy your stay.
